I really need to listen to my friend Scott Thornton more.
As I was installing my corn field on The Hills Line, Scott mentioned to me that he twisted the stalks to rotate the corn on his now former IAIS Milan Branch layout. That way the finished field feel more fuller, regardless of the angle it was viewed at.
I did not listen to him at that time.
Having now installed my version of post-emergent crops, I’ve realized I’ve created a field of green nails. If you stick your head into the scene it looks somewhat better, but from normal viewing angles it simply doesn’t work.
So now I’m spending a fair amount of time individually twisting each stalk by hand. With respect to the legend Sam Cooke, not everybody’s feelin’ great.
