In the category of “one of those simple things to add to a layout that takes all of five seconds but helps establish era and locale”, today’s entry covers the Iowa River Corridor Trail.
The 13-mile path rolls through Iowa City, Coralville, and North Liberty. As the name implies, it follows the Iowa River… and cuts under the Crandic’s Iowa River bridge south of Iowa City.
A simple sliver of styrene painted and weathered, along with a photo backdrop to suggest the endless continuation of the path, and I’ve added another place-maker in my quest for prototype replication.
Important to include Rail Trails…like we update businesses and billboards–in modelling a modern scene. Good Catch!
